I'm watching this show right now, I refresh Digg, and bam, I see this..
LA Times seems like a news source, when in reality it's just another frakking blog. I think LA Times is trying to redeem itself as a viable news article resource. It's trying to put a bad spin on bloggers by saying they're unrestricted, unregulated, and biased. In some cases it may be true. But in this case it looks like they were just showing off new products and trying to influence the blogger to try and buy some ad space. It's not like they were telling her to say good things about the new product. They probably just wanted her to talk about the product...good or bad.!

WTF. The manufacturers should be asking the FDA to prove they're dangerous, and until then, GTFO of their business. Regulatory agencies have taken over.?
A lot of the problems in the black community (and this article is focussed solely on black minorities) has to do with the breakdown of the family unit. Kids without fathers look for guidance elsewhere, often on the street, It starts at a young age too. If you want to bring down crime, you have to give these kids the support and guidance they need. Money should go towards youth programs, tutoring, scholarships etc.. You do that and the crime will go down substantially in a few years.Less crime = more development = more jobs = less crime
